Board Certified Clinical Neuropsychologist
Molly Colvin PhD ABPP
Neuropsychological assessment provides a comprehensive view of someone's thinking (cognitive), emotional, social, behavioral, and academic abilities. Most people know that it involves completing standardized test measures and questionnaires. But testing is only a small part of the process.
To obtain accurate diagnoses and to correctly answer specific questions, I always consider the context of a client's experience, developmental history, and medical factors. I will spend time getting to know you and/or your child. Then I combine this knowledge with a deep understanding of how the brain develops and functions across the lifespan to interpret the test results.
Evaluations also create a unique opportunity for an individual to achieve a better understanding of his or her unique strengths and weaknesses. For clinical evaluations, our feedback session, where we discuss the results and recommendations, is a critical part of the process. It is important to me to explain concepts in plain language and to give specific recommendations that can be implemented. I look forward to hearing from you.
